An Argument for the Paranormal

Recently I have been thinking a lot about the nature of reality. More specifically, I have been wondering why many peoplehave this fascination with the paranormal. Explorations into the unknown, ghost hunting, UFO sightings, and other unexplained phenomenon are everywhere. In fact, last Friday night I turned on the television and there were 6 hours of back-to-back paranormal investigation shows for me to watch. It was the perfect end to my work week. My wife, however, laughs at me.

She says, “Haven’t you ever noticed that they never find anything, or have any solid evidence?”

Well of course not, that is the nature of the paranormal. It is not quite there, but is always there. The excitement lies in the process of searching.

We search for the paranormal because the paranormal opens the portal to the unknown. It expands our existence. It expands our reality. It brings us beyond the confines of our physical self, and it moves us beyond our mental borders.

I heard someone say once that they would love to have an encounter with the ghost. They said that when they encountered a ghost this would become their proof that this isn’t all that there is. The encounter would be proof about the existence of something greater.

I see a paranormal encounter as an experience that opens the door to the infinite possibilities for our own existence. The mysterious sound down the hall is like the other realm knocking on our own limitations. The apparition is a glimpse into another world. It is all possible when we confront the paranormal. The awakening to the unknown is really awakening to the mysteries of the universe. It is saying that we are more than we know.

Whether you are a believer or a skeptic, I would be interested in hearing what your thoughts are about the paranormal and paranormal research.

Do you know of any good blogs out there? Any podcast that I should dive into? Any books that are worth reading?

Share what you know. I would love to hear about it.

Thanks for reading.

    Yes it does.
A book of mine that you might find interesting (actually, there are heaps of books on the subject). My book covers what it feels like to be a Medium. It’s called TRUST: what it feels like to be a Medium by Terry R Barca. eBook, paperback and audiobook.
I’ve been a Medium for a number of years — so long in fact that I don’t think about it much any more (except when I’m around other Mediums and we swap stories). It is a part of my life and it bleeds into my writing. The experience of making contact with the Spirit world is nothing but positive and when I do it to help others with their grief, it can be an emotional experience.
Not everyone handles the idea very well. I’ve lost a few friends along the way and others are happy as long as I don’t talk about it haha.
You may discover abilities in this area, it’s up to you. Either way, you are in for an interesting ride.
Remember to set the intention of only working with the light.
    Have fun.

    1. Thanks so much for the comment. I will look for your book. I appreciate your positive approach to the subject and you sharing your personal experience. Thanks again!
